I'm a week a way from my 7th first day of school as a teacher. I suppose that explains the silence, hehe. But my silence does mean productivity! I've been going to the gym 3-4x a week (save for last week when I wasn't feeling well), working hard on lesson plans and school-related documents and of course, making each day count with the little boy.
This year, I will be handling seven sections of about 40 students each (that's a whopping 280 students, woot) and also a co-curricular club. I'm not too sure how I feel about not being a class adviser, since I have always been one for the last 6 years. While it may be sad not to have a section to call 'home' this school year, I am also welcoming all the extra time I will have in the mornings (no need to be in the classroom everyday from 7:20 to 7:40, woohoo).
Sadly, I haven't been running much (what's new). I ran 2 weeks ago, 5kms for 42minutes, HAHA. And last Monday, 3kms of interval training. In the gym, I usually join the spinning class with which I am able to burn 500-550 calories/class (50 minutes/class). Not bad, right? Then there's also the Boot Camp class which I joined last week (it's on Thursdays) - it's like a lighter, more purposeful version of the Insanity workout. Can't wait for the spinning+boot camp classes tomorrow! As for running, although I did sign up for the Run United 2 last Sunday (just 10km), I did not get to go! :( Sorry, RFB. Someone else end up running the race bib though so at least hindi nasayang. Buti nalang 'teacherontherun' ang pangalan ng blog na ito. Motivates me to run AND teach well.
As for the mommy part, I can say it comes naturally so no deliberate motivation needed :)

Almost the Weekend!
Say hello to my new baby! ;) This elliptical was delivered right at our doorstep Monday of this week. As mentioned in a previous entry, I bought this from Toby's. It cost me Php 10,490 (something like this) + Php 300 (delivery free) = Php 10, 790. Not bad considering it doesn't need electricity to work so at least my mom will not nag me about wasting electricity. So far, I've been on it twice this week! Tuesday (since it came late Monday afternoon) and yesterday, Thursday. Yesterday, I wore my Garmin + heart rate monitor and found out I burned about 255 calories in 55 minutes. Take note, I noticed that my heart rate monitor was not worn properly already 25 minutes into the workout. So at 25 minutes, it read that I had only burned 8 calories, LOL! So I most probably burned more than 255 calories. I plan on using this elliptical 4-5x a week.
I am also currently downloading Shaun T's INSANITY work out. Supposedly a high-intensity workout that lasts for 60 days. More info on that here. I'm going to be doing it with running buddy Van, starting on Monday when we get back from Cebu. Not sure if I can do this while going on the elliptical 5x a week.
Wish me luck, it's supposed to make me, well, insane. Will tell you about that after Day 1.

Tomorrow, we head off to CEBU! ;) Staying in Crimson Spa & Resort, Mactan. It was originally Shangri-La but since I figured we've already been there, why not try something new (and a bit cheaper, too)? I've also heard a lot of good things about this resort. Photos look amazing! (photos from the website).

Summer '13
The most awaited time of the year!!! ...fine, next time Christmas, hah! As a teacher, one of the nicest benefits is having April off...especially now that I have Liam, this really is something welcomed with open arms. What to do this April?
1. Lose at least 10 pounds.
Seriously. I have to be able to fit into my pre-pregnancy casual clothes by May so that I won't have to buy new ones! The plan? Yoga + squats + lunges + running/gym-ing when I get the chance and of course, DIETING!!! I've already lost about 40 pounds from my pregnancy so another 10-15 should be doable. Fight!
2. UBE (Ultimate Bonding Experience) with Liam!
Since yaya will be on (permanent) vacation, I expect to have a lot of time with Liam <3 Which explains "running/gym-ing when I get the chance". The past months that I have spent training for the marathon, I admit I counted on yaya too much. This time, running will take a back seat and Liam will be #1, I promise.
3. Liam's first airplane ride
Will be visiting my 90-year-old grandma in Cebu on the 13th so she can also see Liam. It'll be Liam's first airplane ride so please help me pray it goes well. It will also be our little family's first out of town trip.
4. Read books!
...at least at night and while Liam is napping, hehe. The books I plan to read/finish reading are:

- Born to Run by Christopher McDougall
- Why We Run by Robin Harvie
- Mere Christianity by CS Lewis
I will end there because I don't want to bite off more than I can chew!

I guess that's it. My workload for the school year is not yet final but if what's being planned (by my bosses) pushes through, then I'm going to have a crazy busy school year ahead! So far, Ive already got the following on my plate: Faculty Club secretary, CLE teacher, CLUB moderator. There are 2 more things that have yet to be finalized :p So for now, hush hush muna.
How about you? What's going to keep you busy this April? :)
