I tell you, there is nothing like a smile like this to make all the hard work worth it. I remember this one batch mate from college saying something like, "Having a baby is so much hard work but you'll love it so much you won't mind." So true. It really is SO MUCH HARD WORK!!! Most especially for the mom! I used to think, the mom carries the baby for 9 months ++ , delivers the baby...and STILL has to deal with the stresses of breastfeeding?! In as much as it's all done by the mother, I learned to see it this way: Instead of complaining about why everything has to be done by the mother, I just see it as MY privilege to be able to do all these for Liam :) In everything, it's all a matter of perspective.
Apart from baby's first big smile, last weekend, my best friend of two many years, Aidsy (also one of Liam's future godmothers), bought Liam his first (and I'm guessing only) stroller. Here he is with his new ride!
Photo care of Ninang Aids :) We spent so much time looking at the strollers in Baby & Company, Podium Mall! I'm glad though that the sales assistants were all so helpful and accommodating, good job to them. Not only did we check out the strollers we also went around the store pushing our Top 3 picks, haha! Of course, we had to get the feel of it, right?
In the end, we had our Top 2 picks:
The Chicco Liteway Umbrella Stroller
- As the name suggests, it is very lite and compact!
- Pretty comfortable for baby
- Seats an infant pretty well
- Does not have a peephole in its 'hood'
The Graco Mirage Stroller
- Wider area for leaning/sleeping for baby
- More padded than the Liteway
- Has a clear, plastic peephole!
- Bulky :(

So, what do you think we went for?
The Graco Mirage! Baby loves it, he uses the stroller to nap in during the mornings when we take him downstairs while we eat breakfast. When he's not napping, he just lies in the stroller, perfectly happy :)

After shopping for the stroller, we (our group of 5 - me, Aids, Car and Cla, Dianne) pushed the stroller (we didn't have it boxed anymore since I wanted to bring it home assembled) and all got super stressed out trying to figure out how to push a stroller down the escalator! It was funny and embarrassing - imagine this, 5 grown up ladies pushing a stroller down the escalator while laughing hysterically, obviously not knowing what they were doing! People kept looking at us and peeking in the stroller, I suppose to check if there was a baby inside. Poor baby, if ever! Hahaha.
So, did we learn how to push down a stroller on an escalator? No. That's what elevators are for! :-D
That's that! Baby's first big (awake) smile & his first stroller. Looking forward to more firsts!
stroller should be backwards going down the escalator :)) you/yaya/person holding at the bottom end :p
ReplyDeleteSo two people holding the stroller, one sa handle bar and another at the foot? Hehehe
